18-Wheeler and Car Collide in Shreveport, 1 Seriously Injured
Emergency crews responded to a collision on the 12000 block of Mansfield Road, near Keithville-Kingston Road and Keithville Lodge Road, in south Caddo Parish.
A tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle collided around 9:30 this morning. The injured was airlifted to LSU Hospital in Shreveport with "life threatening" injuries.
Police are not releasing further details about the car or the victim at this time.
"The motoring public must have protection from these large trucks carrying loads of 80000 pounds or more. There are no small 18 wheeler collisions," says Atty. David Walker. "Trucker safety rules needs to be a top priority for the new administration," he added.
